UNIQUE DESIGN
Mayor Tok said “AYPIKUT project will be so beneficial to collect waste plantal oils and waste batteries; in this context, we will implement the waste plantal oil and waste battery collecting project named ‘No Waste’ with the help of Emine Erdoğan who is the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.” Tok continued his speech and said “As Ilkadım Municipality, we created a phone line as ‘Waste Hotline’ numbered as 444 55 06 and with the line, we always try to provide solutions to problems of our citizens. In this purpose, we wanted to design a waste collector equipment to locate certain places. In this design process, we started AYPIKUT project and it became the way itself today.” Then Tok continued, “Half of AYPIKUT is in form of battery and the other half is in form of oil canister. We designed it like that because we want our citizens to interest. You can throw waste batteries in the battery form and spill waste oils to canister from with a pedal. And there is a waste bin in front of it for whom does not want to spill their waste oils. I know that so many citizens want a place to throw their waste batteries. Also, I know that so many house wives do not want to spill their waste oils to sink because they can choke up the drain downs or sewages. We want to solve this problem with our new project.” Tok continued to his speech and said “In this first phase, we will locate 40 AYPIKUT equipment to different places in various counties and they will be in service fractionally. And then in the second phase of the project, we will locate AYPIKUT to schools and waste plantal oil and waste battery collecting project in schools will be permanent.
AYPIKUT OPENED
After the speeches, AYPIKUT was opened. The people, who joined the ceremony, spilled the first waste plantal oils to the equipment and then students threw their waster batteries to the equipment. During the ceremony, Mayor Tok informed the people about the project.
UIGAD SUPPORTS AYPIKUT
International Online Journalism and Journalists Association (UIGAD) has stated that it supports the project which was realized for the first time in Turkey by Ilkadım Municipality. UIGAD Chairman Izzet Aydın said that they will help announcing and creating awareness of the people for municipality’s works in this context. Aydın said “we support the project which was realized for the first time in Turkey because we goal to protect the environment and support all the works in this context. We will provide to announce the project with the help of our members and we will try to expand the project which can be an example for the relevant works to all the other places in Turkey. We congratulate Ilkadım Municipality for this unique project as the association.”
